Carrie Rice, Addison’s 1st Director of Communications and Marketing, Resigns

Carrie Rice, Addison’s first Director of Communications and Marketing, has been a great addition to our Town’s staff since she came to Addison in August of 2011. With an in-depth background in PR and Communications from 8 years of working on Capitol Hill, and then at NASA in Huntsville, Alabama, Carrie brought skills and knowledge to help further provide information about our Town to all of us. After moving to Addison, Carrie and her husband Michael rapidly became involved in our community.

When asked about the many facets of her work in Addison, she shared that the Town’s “Re-branding “project has been the greatest challenge, yet fun for her. Under her leadership, literally thousands of community members participated in surveys and opinion polls as well as a citizens’ group including the Mayor and Council members to research and obtain community buy-in on our new logo and slogan “It all comes together”.

Carrie has turned in her resignation this past month [Nov. 2014] to move back to Huntsville, Alabama to become the Director of Communications for the Huntsville/ Madison Chamber of Commerce.  When asked about leaving, she reported that it was time to move on but she regretted that she has not been able to complete the website project that is scheduled to launch January 1st. She did not know what the Town’s plans were for her replacement.

We all wish Carrie and Michael the best on their relocation to Alabama. Her involvement in Addison has been appreciated. Both she and Michael will be missed.
