Mayor,<\/p>\n

Seventeen days ago the Addison residents spoke with their votes, replacing three incumbents with three candidates who are ready to move Addison forward and return us to the Addison way.\u00a0 But it didn\u2019t take long for you to let everyone know that you are not willing to move on.<\/p>\n

Tonight\u2019s agenda attacks the new councilmembers.\u00a0 It\u2019s an in-your-face DARE to them.\u00a0 It\u2019s basically\u00a0 a temper tantrum on paper.\u00a0 You put a controversial issue on the agenda: the newsletter.\u00a0 Let me repeat, YOU mayor\u2026 put that item on the Agenda tonight and, YOU mayor\u2026 chose the wording of the item.<\/p>\n

And then YOU leaked the agenda to your supporters, working with them to arrange for an email to be circulated that falsely told people that it was the new councilmembers who put the newsletter on the agenda.\u00a0 You did it to attack them, and you did it before these councilmembers EVER saw the agenda.\u00a0 You did it to claim that they are following a secret agenda.\u00a0 You did it to claim that you were right when you campaigned as the Addison mayor against them\u2026 and lied about what they stood for.<\/p>\n

So to everyone who is here, and watching at home, because they think the new councilmembers put the newsletter on the agenda, you were lied to.\u00a0 The mayor did it.\u00a0 And then blamed the new councilmembers to try to make us all mad.\u00a0 You and I are being used by the mayor. Welcome to the club!<\/p>\n

Mr. Mayor, you\u2019re doing this to KEEP Addison divided.\u00a0 That\u2019s what you want.\u00a0 Because when you make it an US verses THEM game, you focus your supporters on YOU, not on what YOU DO.\u00a0 It\u2019s your conduct that\u2019s at issue\u2026. So that is why you don\u2019t want to talk about it.\u00a0 By making Addison divided, you convince your supporters to support you no matter what YOU DO, not because they think it\u2019s right or wrong, but because you make it about YOU\u2026.\u00a0 And making it about YOU and demanding that your supporters support YOU, means that they\u2019re not thinking about how you\u2019re hurting Addison.\u00a0 And that makes it possible for you to do things you shouldn\u2019t be doing.<\/p>\n

So\u2026 you need division in Addison.\u00a0 It keeps your supporters in line and it gives you what you think is an excuse for acting improperly.<\/p>\n

Shameless political antics, self-absorption and total disregard for the residents\u2019 concerns culminated in the rejection of your incumbents and your administrations\u2019 ideology. However, before Addison can celebrate there is still the head of the snake to deal with.\u00a0 The stunts you\u2019ve pulled with the agenda show us that you\u2019re still striking out and that poisoning Addison is something that you don\u2019t care about. I reject your recent assertion that the remainder of the council can’t possibly represent all Addison residents. This isn\u2019t about WHO sits up there, it\u2019s very much about WHAT THEY DO.\u00a0 It\u2019s time for Addison to focus on ISSUES, and to reject your efforts to deflect attention away from WHAT YOU\u2019VE DONE, which surely needs to be judged.\u00a0 No person sitting up there is ever above the law, and every person sitting up there must demand from each member, compliance with all laws and rules.\u00a0 This is about our government\u2026 and you can\u2019t highjack it.<\/p>\n
